30051 X-Wing is a mini Star Wars set released as a Target Easter promotional in March, 2010. It was re-released as a Walmart promotional in March of 2011 and as a promotion with The Sun on the 14th May 2011 in the UK.

Description[edit | edit source]

The X-Wing has four wings and a main body. The wings can be adjusted individually and moved into an "X" shape or parallel with each other and the ground. There is a piece representing a blaster at the tip of each wing. The engines are at the base of each wing and clustered close to the body of the ship. At the back of the engines are four red studs as the thrusters. A grey stud is placed just behind the cockpit, representing an Astromech Droid. The nose of the ship is long and white with a grey tip.

Background[edit | edit source]

X-Wing fighters are powerful, sleek and agile. They are used more than any other ship by the Rebel Alliance in space battles. X-Wings participated in the Battle of Yavin, the Battle of Hoth, the Battle of Endor and others. They have four blasters, one at the tip of each wing, and several Proton Torpedos. X-Wings can withstand more punishment than TIE Fighters but can still be easily destroyed by a few well-placed shots.
