This is probably the most condense News Blog Brickipedia will have in a while.

A new video has made its way online, depicting a promotional video being shown at New York Comic Con. The video depicts the backstory of BIONICLE's reboot (it's confirmed to be a hard reboot now). In the video, a narrator describes how Ekimu and Makuta, both brothers and mask-makers, would make masks for the islanders until Makuta grew envious and tried to make the Mask of Ultimate Power, only to be defeated by Ekimu, though both were sent into a slumber as a result. <videoflash>XcLqk4zhIqs</videoflash> Update: The full video is now on the Facebook page, but I can't seem to integrate it into this blog.

Furthermore, the BIONICLE website at LEGO.com has been updated with character information for the six masters.

Furthermore, a tweet by LEGO shows that they are giving away an exclusive mask at New York Comic Con, named Exclusive Tahu Mask. Other giveaways include posters.

Furthermore, we have the following tweets with pictures from BZP. BZP has tweeted more than this, but these are some of the highlights.

These tweets depict some concept art and images of the sets as they appear at New York Comic Con!

And even FURTHERMORE, there's this image from BIONICLE's Facebook page.

Well, really, news is coming in by the second for BIONICLE's return! Please keep checking back, as this blog will surely be updated, and also be sure to check out our BIONICLE page for more cool information on BIONICLE's history and return!

Well, I guess I'm not going to write that huge rant I promised. Because laziness. :P

Basically, it seems cool, story/concept artwork is promising, animation stuff looks like it could mix humor and seriousness well enough, sets look awesome (even if the colors were different than what I expected), new gearbox piece is meh.

I have so many thoughts about this, so I'm giving anybody the challenge to find all of them in any LEGO forums, wikis and tweets I have dumped them in from around the web.

Boys will be boys. Girls will be girls.

I'm not the slightest bit interested. BINOICLE isn't LEGO to me it's not bricky enough

These are the types of anti-BIONICLE comments I hate. :/

I think her comment is fine. She doesn't call it garbage, or anything derogatory. \_O_/

But she still refers to "BIONICLE" as "Non-LEGO". I just don't like that.

LEGO has internal employees that say that. I don't see what the issue is with LEGO producing more than one toy, myself, but she does liken it to how some people don't consider Friends/Princesses/Elves something that LEGO should be dabbling in, yet she likes it anyway.

I only consider it "LEGO" in the sense that it is made by LEGO, in the same way that key chains are LEGO. In my (and I assume most of the general publics) view, LEGO is a construction tool, with the little bricks you build things with (I.e., System and DUPLO). BIONICLE and HERO FACTORY I'd consider an action figure really (or, as LEGO calls it, constraction, which is a horrible term).

So it would be kind of like if Oreo began producing wafers instead of just sandwich cookies, since the brand name is synonymous with the product in the general public's mind. Can anybody imagine the awful backlash if that were to happen? No? Then it must not be an issue. :P (Not that anyone was saying it was, just thought I would keep going.... :P )

So Makuta's one guy this time around, right? I want to get that straight before any more of the story comes out :D

So, the Toa shoot as well as move their arms- interesting :)

But Onua, or should I say Onya :P looks weird.

Interesting to see Tahu's transparent mask- I figured the reason they made a completely different looking Gali mask was because due to the new way they're designed the weaker transparent parts woudn't be suitable.

Still no mention of the mask's powers, I wonder if they have any :S

The plastic used to make transparent pieces (polycarbonate as far as I know) is the same type of plastic as they use for constraction pieces, so I don't think that is the issue. It might be that the level of detail wouldn't translate well? I don't know, but I miss her visor. :P

I like the reboot. It sounds like there Artakha and Karzahni won't be featured like I hoped, but Makuta and Ekimu will fill their roles. I can live with that. I haven't watched the video yet, but so far I am liking the sound, but I will expand on that in a blog I'm hoping to write tomorrow.

Tahu's mask looks great. The whole figure does, but the mask looks a lot better. Still not a big fan of Lewa's mask (just had to put that :P) but I like the sound of his characterization. It seems a bit more complex and interesting than what the Toa were originally. Interesting that he seems to control both plants and air, though I do vaguely remember an old description that mentioned he controlled vines by using the air to carry them, so maybe they are going for something like that? Actually, I am liking the characterization for most of the Toa, it seems that they are being tweaked to be more relatable, I just hope it isn't overplayed like with Chima. I am a little worried about Onua's sleepiness and Pohatu's fear of the dark (Also, Kopaka's bio mentions Toa, so here's a little "I told you so," for everyone who jumped the gun and cried that it wasn't coming back. :P )

Small note: The web design isn't too great. I have to keep flicking back to the characters page, and the margins between rows are so big that I didn't realize the photo of Tahu, Lewa, and the spiders wasn't interactive and that there were characters below that, and then I didn't realize there were characters below them too. I like the cleanliness and artwork compared to LEGO's busy and cartoony mini-sites, but something should be done about this. :P

I'm liking the animation style. I probably would be happy with anything but CGI though. :P

Nice stuff, also don't forget the Minecraft craze. I was gonna write about it but I'm sure there is some special outline I need to know about News reporting before I make an article.
