An Imperial Death Trooper is a Star Wars minifigure released in 2016.

Background[edit | edit source]

Death Troopers were elite Stormtroopers encased in black specialized armor. Death Troopers however were as common as Stormtroopers and the two types of imperial troops would often be seen together. Some Death Troopers wore black pauldrons and had special equipment attached to their armor including fragmentation grenades and were assigned to lead a squad of common Death Troopers or protect high-ranking officers like Darth Vader, Thrawn and Director Orson Krennic. They fought during the battle of Atolon under Thrawn and later during the battle of Scarif under Krennic.
