Background[edit | edit source]
Diana is an Amazon from the island of Themyscira (a hidden island native to a tribe of strong women) and her mother, Hippolyta, is their queen. As a baby, Diana was blessed with abilities by Greek goddesses and Hermes (the only god who blessed her). Later on when Diana was a woman a man named Steve Trevor crash landed in Themyscria, Steve told stories about wars in the U.S. to Diana and the other Amazons. Queen Hippolyta held a contest to see who would bring Steve back to his home and protect the world from the evil of men. Diana wanted too bring him home but her mother forbid her. Diana put a mask on so her mother would not know who she is and let her take part in the contest. Diana won the contest and her mother allowed her to take Steve home. Her mother gave her a costume of the colours of the U.S.A. to show respect. Diana also got a pair of bullet proof bracelets and a golden lasso which forced you to tell the truth, a tiara the Diana found she could use it like a boomerang and an invisible jet that could get Diana to places quickly. Diana soon became the super heroine, Wonder Woman.
