Fat Friar is a ghost minifigure which appeared in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4.
Background[edit | edit source]
He was the resident ghost of the Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was a jolly man and very forgiving. In 1991, he appeared before Harry Potter and the other first years as they were waiting to be sorted, welcoming them warmly and saying he would be happy to find them in his house. The Fat Friar was very fair, as he was always pleading on behalf of Peeves the Poltergeist to allow him to come to the welcome feasts despite his past wrongdoings. It is unknown if the Friar ever managed to convince the other ghosts to let Peeves attend.[1]
In the Video Game[edit | edit source]
In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, the Fat Friar may be found in the Hufflepuff common room after Polyjuice Potion use and Immoblius are learned. The Friar has Hufflepuff access, frightens enemies as an attack, and may not be killed unless he falls of the edge of the level.
In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, the Fat Friar may be found in the upper hallway. He is only playable in the console versions of the game.
