What's the maximum number of checkusers and oversights we want on the wiki (do we want to set a maximum limit)? Note- it's possible the Board will come up with a limit, this limit would overrule ours their number was lower than the number we came up with. Do we want checkuser/oversight rights to be permanent like admin, or do we want to do a yearly election for them? What requirements do we want for the rights (note- bureaucrat has a requirement of 2 months as admin) * Do we want separate checkuser and oversight elections, or should we give them out as a package, ie, users can have checkuser and oversight, but not one or the other? Note- there is an ongoing Board discussion about merging the rights, if this does go ahead, this point will be pointless NovaHawk 10:52, 22 February 2014 (UTC) Update- checkuser and oversight has been merged into one group, known as functionary. NovaHawk 23:37, 10 May 2014 (UTC) A group of five who have both checkuser and oversight seems like it would work well to me. Being as sensitive as these rights are, I'd prefer to have the rights limited to a small group, so these actions only take place when absolutely required and can be closely monitored, but large enough so the tasks can be very easily covered by the team. And I'd say a yearly election would be best, that way in case people start drifting off elsewhere, they'd just be unlikely to win the next election, and give the community a chance to re-assess who should have the rights every year NovaHawk 10:52, 22 February 2014 (UTC) I don't care about a limit. As long as there are enough active CheckUsers for a project, I think it's fine. I think it should be permanent too. I don't see why a user who earns such rights should abruptly lose them at the end of a year.
