Laser Raiders
Laser Raiders is a dark-ride in the Kingdom of the Pharaohs at LEGOLAND Windsor.
Ride Experience[edit | edit source]
The queuing takes place in the former circus tent. The line is designed to look like an archaeological site, and that you are going deeper inside to the actual tombs. There are numerous televisions dotted around the queue playing videos about the comical adventures of Dr. Kilroy (all of them filmed all around LEGOLAND), facts about Egyptian life and an interesting video explaining your mission to keep guests amused. The queue is the most detailed in the park, offering many photo opportunities. Riders are directed through a small room and down a tunnel made of canvas designed to look like a excavation site. The reason for this is because two train tracks from the Orient Expedition go underneath it into a maintenance area. The tunnel acts as a bridge and must be opened regularly for repairs. This means you need to walk over a level crossing to reach the other side of the tunnel where you will join another short queue to get on the ride.
Once seated on the ride, you are given a laser blaster with which you shoot over 100 targets, each triggering an animation within the ride. Green targets = 500 points and Red Targets = 1000 points.
Story[edit | edit source]
The story follows Johnny Thunder as he attempts to rescue Miss Pippin Reed from the dastardly Sam Sinister, who is holding her captive whilst he steals all of the treasure from the temple.
