Macku, previously Maku, is a BIONICLE character introduced in 2001. As a Ga-Matoran, she is the right hand of Turaga Nokama and, with Hahli, a member of the water tribe's Kolhii team. Macku is an adventurous Matoran who often sneaks away from her village to visit her friend Hewkii, whom she has a crush on. This free spirit earned her a spot on the Chronicler's Company when they were gathered to defend Kini-Nui and the Toa from hordes of Rahi. Macku also participated in the Bohrok Wars, where, for her heroic efforts, the spelling of her named was changed from "Maku." Much later, she conspires with Tuyet and previous members of the Chronicler's Company against Makuta when he has taken control of the Matoran Universe.

- "Maku" is a Maori word meaning "wet." Following a lawsuit filed against the LEGO company for trademarking Maori words, her name was changed to the phonetically identical Macku.

Mata Nui - Macku
Matoran villagers of Mata Nui live and work in six villages around the island.
Macku lives in the floating village of Ga-Koro. Her skill at canoe racing is legendary and her sense of direction is flawless - she can navigate through the waters surrounding Mata Nui in even the worst conditions. Her athletic ability has made her a natural at Kolhii, and her good friend Hewkii is always willing to give her pointers to help improve her game.
The Matoran joined the Toa and Turaga to journey to the city of Metru Nui
