Today I'm reviewing a new-ish set: 41050 Ariel's Amazing Treasures. This set is the cheapest set of the Disney Princess theme. I love the small Friends sets, they're always a treat to get, and this is only 3$ more. While reading keep in mind I'm a Disney Princess fan girl, so if the set isn't accurate I won't be a huge fan.

The Build[edit | edit source]

Mini-doll figure[edit | edit source]

The second best part of this set is Ariel she is extremely accurate. Her tail is unique and probally will stay unique unless mini-dolls appear in more themes. Her torso is cool, and her head and hair only appear in one more set. It's nice too see she has a new face rather then reusing Stephanie's.

Flounder is the best part of this set. First off him and his mould are exclusive. He's mostly yellow but has green eyes (<3) and his fins are two different shades of blue.

I included the clam with them, because in promotional pictures he's Ariel's accessory. Inside he has a sliver pearl.

Build 1[edit | edit source]

400px The first build is the smallest and most bizarre. What is it? It looks like a place where you go worship starfishes. The starfish is trans purple and exclusive, but there's not much use for a trans purple starfish in mocs, ect. It also comes with that nice seaweed piece, a clear flat blue studs, two flowers, dark tan plate and lime 1x2 slopes. The slopes are the only thing here to my interest.

There was no sene in The Little Mermaid were Ariel goes to a starfish's home. It just there to make the set look bigger.

Build 2[edit | edit source]

400px The second build is the treasures. Do we get an accurate reincarnation, nope! It's a treasure chest, on similar pieces as the first build. What?! In the movie there was several shelfs with various items, not a chest! Mabey the inside will make up for it?, Nope! All inner pieces have been seen in Friends, a music sheet, binoculars and blue diamond. None of these three were even in the movie! In the movie there was several everyday objects such as pots, glasses, mirrors, paintings, and kettles, that weren't in a treasure chest. The biggest crime is no dinglehopper (or fork for all you non fans). As stated before the rest of the pieces or more than lass the same as build 1.

Build 3[edit | edit source]

The third and biggest build builds the entrance. What?! The entrance in the movie involved Ariel swimming through rocks no fancy entrance like this. The build it's self is okay, if it wasn't based off anything. The colours they mix look odd together, tan, light pink, pear gold, lavender and white. This makes it look sloppy too. The lavender arch is cool, and the gates will be new to most people(I had a few from Alantais). Other interesting parts include light pink roof tiles, 3 bricks high 1x2 slopes, pearl gold cheese slopes, and the pearl gold trident will be introduced to most girls viva through this set.

Overall, this is a pretty bad set. The design of it is awful. It's extremely inaccurate, I don't think the designer saw the movie. I'm pretty sure she was told design a girly underwater treasure grove. It is very quick to build. The set has okay parts. It's lime tiles, flounder and the tail are the only bricks new to me. The price is another catch on this set. Since it is a licensed set, it has a bigger price tag than it should. At 12.99 USD, with 77 pieces it's a rip(it's 15 euro here!). Unless you want a mermaid mini-doll and flounder I highly recommend you buy a 9.99 USD Friends set for parts, or any other princess set if you want a princess set. The set is just a cash grab for LEGO really, and a way to give Ariel her tail. Apparently mermaid Ariel and Flounder are appearing in a 40$ half decent set next year, defiantly skip this one now!

Anyways, thanks for reading my review! I hope you liked it <3 Soup

It is actually not recreating Ariel's grotto despite the name being ‘Ariel's Treasures’. It recreates Ariel collecting items for her grotto.

"I'm pretty sure she was told design a girly underwater treasure grove." Welcome to Disney's synergy. :P You are probably exactly right.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking of this set, but I'll probably skip it now. I like Ariel and Flounder, but oh well. Are you going to review any more Princess sets?

(P.S. I keep forgetting to tell you I did watch Frozen and actually thought that it was amazing despite my doubt. Much better than Tangled.)

I'll try and review all current "girl sets", any requests? I'm currently writing Sunshine Ranch :)

Glad you loved frozen! Aladdin is the only offical Disney Princess movie I dislike, so I can't agree with you on tangled.

You are wrong! It recreates Ariel collecting items for her grotto, not Ariel's secret grotto.
