Official description[edit | edit source]

Desperate to save his daughter, Tormak betrays the Phoenix and steals the Map known as the Artifact. But the theft does not go as planned. Charred in an unexpected explosion, Tormak now finds himself pursued by both the Phoenix and the Hunters.

Summary[edit | edit source]

"In the magical world of Chima, Eris is still haunted by visions of the mysterious panther. Laval and Tormak lead a daring attack on the Hunter's ice fort. Using the phoenix boy Flinx's growing fire powers, the ice mountain is destroyed. Everyone captured by the Hunters is rescued from the ice, except for Li'ella who is nowhere to be found. Sir Fangar instead plans to marry the lioness and make her his queen." - Opening monologue

Following the destruction of their ice fortress, the Hunters vanish from the surface of Chima. Rhinos, ravens, eagles, wolves, and gorillas search Chima for them, but they are nowhere to be found. Eglor reports this to a distraught Laval in the lion city map room as Eris makes one final search. On her way back to Mount Cavora, she experiences another vision of the panther and the floating mountains destruction. Just as Leonidas and Lennox finish cleaning up the lion city after the Hunters attack, the eagle crashes into the throne, destroying the lion statues.

Eris finds Laval and Flinx in the market and tells them of her vision. Flinx shows off his new fire sword but accidentally burns a market item and Laval annoyed sends him away. Laval insists that they must first find Li'ella, which means going to the Hunter's tunnels and that they must first talk to Tormak.

At the crescent outpost, Tormak grieves for Li'ella as he looks over the phoenix artifact map. Fluminox tries to comfort him and reminds the tiger of when he reassured him of his decision to not take part in the prior Illumination.

At the bottom of the Gorge of Eternal Depth, the Hunters are hard at work repairing their vehicles. Stealthor reports to Sir Fangar that construction on a new ice fortress has begun and that it will be strong enough to attack Mount Cavora. Sir Fangar reminds him that they must deal with the one thing that could stop their quest; another illumination. Because it is far too dangerous for the Hunters themselves to retrieve it, Sir Fangar tells Stealthor that he plans to blackmail Tormak into obtaining the artifact in exchange for Li'ella.

Tormak searches the caverns frantically for Li'Ella where he encounters Sir Fangar at the top of a cliff. Tormak chases after the sabre-tooth tiger until Sir Fangar makes his offer and presents Li'Ella's necklace. Tormak declares that he will never betray the phoenix and Sir Fangar drives off, regrouping the other other Hunters.

Atop Spiral Mountain, Maula, Mottrot, Vardy, Voom Voom, and Vornon are preparing the place for the wedding. Maula questions Vardy on the choice of location, yet the vulture leader remains determined that the royal wedding must be held in a grand place, rather than a dark cave. Mottrot questions the design of the Li'ella figure on the cake to which Vardy claims that it is simply how Li'ella appears, as she demands to be released. Vornon and Voom Voom then arrive with explosive ice-plants as a substitute for bouquets. Overhead, Razar spots the Hunters from his Chi Raider, and hurries off to inform the heroes.

Back at the Cresent Outpost, Tormak has taken up guard duty with Lundor while Li'ella is gone. The tiger notices his daughter's fire axe, prompting for him to remember of when he rescued Li'ella from the Hunters thousands of years ago and the times they spent together as she grew older, including when she made a drawing of the two of them. These memories move the fierce tiger to tears and looking at Li'ella's drawing, makes up his mind on what to do. Tormak exits the outpost and waves an orb of fire chi to signal the Hunters. Noticing this, Stealthor orders a saber-tooth tiger warrior to alert Sir Fangar.

Tormak returns to the outpost and easily makes his way to the room where the Artifact is held. He grabs the map and prepares to leave, but is questioned by the Tiger Guards. Tormak attacks them, easily defeating his comrades and apologizes as he continues to where the Hunters have arrived at the base of the hill. At the base of the hill, Tormak arrives with the artifact, and demands Li'ella. After a negotiation, Tormak refused to surrender the artifact, and the hunters begin to leave. However, as they leave, the tiger looks at Li'ella's drawing one last time, and changes his mind as he runs off with the artifact. Back inside the temple, Fluminox discovers that Tormak has stolen the artifact. The phoenix king frantically runs to Tormak, demanding him to bring the artifact back to the temple. Tormak refuses, claiming it's the only way he'll get his daughter back. As he approaches, though, the artifact explodes, sending hunters flying and excretes a huge cloud of ashes. Afterwards, Tormak is inflicted with panther scars and is completely blackened with a fiery aura. The drawing his daughter gave him falls to the ground, and bursts into flames. A betrayed Fluminox looks on as what was once his best advisor and best friend runs off. Laval and Eris happen to spot Tormak (now in the form of Panthar), and rush to alert the others.
