Official Description[edit | edit source]
When the Ninja receive an invitation to partake in the Tournament of Elements and a clue that Zane might be alive, they accept and travel to a Lost Island owned by notorious crime lord Master Chen in order to save their friend.
Plot[edit | edit source]
On a secluded island, Lloyd ambushes a squad of Nindroids and sneaks into an ancient tomb, but is unable to grab the golden armour. Just then, Cyrus Borg and Sensei Wu enter, revealing the whole thing was simply a simulation. Lloyd inquires where the actual armour is, but Borg decides it is best not to tell him. Wu is saddened as Lloyd was the only one out of the four remaining Ninja to answer his summon, to which Borg reminisces about the loss of Zane.
Lloyd then visits the other Ninja who have all gone their separate ways. Jay has taken up hosting a reality competition, Cole has become a lumber jack, and Kai fights in an underground slither pit as "The Red Shogun." Though Lloyd does his best to convince them to return, they all refuse. However Kai goes to Zane's memorial afterwards, which is now covered in bird droppings and making up his mind, goes to Master Chen's noodle shop where he finds the other Ninja with Lloyd. The green ninja then suggests they add someone new to the team, but the others believe no one can replace Zane.
Just then, a group of thugs lead by Eyezor enter and begin causing trouble at the cash register. The Ninja intervene, but the thugs escape out the back. The Ninja follow, only to find a table with fortune cookies, a picture of Zane, and a note claiming that the Nindroid is alive. The Ninja take the fortune cookies, which invites them to Master Chen's Tournament of Elements.
At Garmadon's monastery, Wu and Nya are busy with their plans to rebuild the Destiny's Bounty. Garmadon goes into his son's room to find him packing, to which Lloyd replies that the Ninja are going fishing. Lloyd then asks if there are others with elemental powers like them, but Garmadon is more curious as to why he would ask. Lloyd leaves, but without his fishing pole.
The Ninja arrive at the dock as instructed to find several others waiting. Just then, a mysterious boat arrives and Clouse exits to welcome them on board.
