The Wasp aka Hope van Dyne is a Marvel Super Heroes character appearing in 2016. She is available in the Ant-Man Level & Character Pack DLC for LEGO Marvel's Avengers.
Background[edit | edit source]
Hope van Dyne was the daughter of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, a superhero couple known as Ant-Man and the Wasp. After Janet sacrificed herself to disable a nuclear missile, Hope and her father grew apart. However, after spying on his former protégé, Darren Cross, Hope discovered he was close to perfecting a the Yellowjacket suit- a suit with similar shrinking powers as her parents'. Hope later worked with her father and Scott Lang, a former criminal who was given the Ant-Man mantle and suit by Pym, to steal the suit. Although their planned heist eventually failed, Lang still ultimately managed to defeat Cross.
