Notes to help keep track of stuff as we (me?) wrangle themes into submission.

A Supertheme is like a Theme's genre

The classic examples are Space, Castle, Town (or City) and Pirates. Perhaps Aquazone is another. I know that Dinosaurs is internally. Maybe Western? Super Heroes could be a licensed one.

Other possible choices are things like Explorers, Monsters, Dinosaurs, Spies...but we probably don't want to go too "unofficial"
One interpretation of a Subtheme would be as a new take or rebranding of a Supertheme. In this way, City and World City are Subthemes of the Town Supertheme.

For Themes with a story, a Subtheme can also be thought of as an arc
With Themes like Marvel Super Heroes, Subthemes can be thought of as different parts of the universe (such as X-Men and Spider-Man) when an arc is not apparent

The system is the "medium" of a set; what pieces make it up. The classic interlocking brick system would be LEGO System. Other systems are TECHNIC, DUPLO, and CCBS.
Toyline is something which I think we can define for ourselves. I'm thinking that this is not about the subject of the set (that would be the Theme) as much as what type of set it is. And no, that does not mean the System. A toyline can span multiple themes, whether they be super-, sub-, or unrelated.

This is why I am considering things like Spinners and Speedorz part of a separate toyline; they are different from the "classic" construction sets.

What about Ninjago sets that include spinners though?
What about Nexo Knights Ultimate sets which are pretty normal, but still that theme's equivalent of Spinners?

Likewise, for Ideas, the difference is releasing sets based on fan vote.
And Dimensions, Collectable Minifigures, LEGO Games....
Also would include action figure themes and girl themes. Probably education stuff too.
Gear, Books, Video games, etc.
Would this include Exclusives, D2Cs, etc.?

Currently, we tend to conflate System with Toyline or sometimes, especially with DUPLO, Theme

Constraction is a toyline. I've been confusing it with CCBS, which is a System.
In TECHNIC's case, it is also a Toyline, which is in turn the Toyline's Theme (or main outlet if it is easier to think of it that way).

I guess this is why we just use the regular Theme to denote vanilla Subthemes

I kind of want to make Batman part of the Super Heroes supertheme. I'm a bit confused about what to do with Spider-Man though, since that had a different license before

I guess that the new Marvel stuff does include at least one Sony product though. Spider-Man is Spider-Man?

I copied the Belville subthemes from the infobox; none of them had links and don't appear on Brickset.
I got tired of listing toylines () when we haven't even got a terribly definitive idea of what those'll end up being.
