The Vermillion (also known as Vermillion Tribe Vermillion Warriors Vermillion Army Vermillion Snakes and Vermillion Serpents) are a faction of warriors and one of the tribe of the Serpentine in service to Acronix and Krux, the Hands of Time, and formerly the Great Devourer and Serpentine in the Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu series and its associated toy line.
History[edit | edit source]
The Vermillion are a breed of snakes, red and orange in color, that are pure first generation progeny and offspring of The Great Devourer and filled with its need to consume everything in their paths. Krux later obtained their eggs and began raising them in preparation for his eventual takeover of Ninjago. He then forced Ray and Maya to forge armor for them to inhabit as humanoid gatherings of snakes, threatening to harm their children Kai and Nya if they refused. He would eventually release the Vermillion after his brother Acronix returned to Ninjago, setting them to work kidnapping laborers-among them Cyrus Borg and Karlof-to work on material for their army and to complete the mighty Iron Doom.
The Vermillion were eventually manipulated by Acronix and Krux into inhabiting the Iron Doom, giving it the ability to fight, and used it to attack the Elemental Masters of the past. However, the Vermillion were eventually lost in time along with their masters and Sensei Wu after he removed one of the Time Blades from the vehicle.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Several of the Vermillion released in sets were not characters in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, but were mass-produced to serve as Vermillion foot soldiers. There was also a type of Vermillion featured in the series that doesn't match existing minifigures, as it matches Commanders Blunck and Raggmunk in coloring but not in armor.
- Tommy Andreasen's non-canon story Way of the Departed indicated that the eggs from which the Vermillion were born were discovered by Master Chen before being given to Krux.
- The Vermillion and the Pyro Vipers are the only Serpentine tribes that weren't involved in the Serpentine War.
