Brickipedia News:The LEGO Group increased energy efficiency by 30% since 2009

On Thursday, February 27, the LEGO Group will be releasing their 2013 Annual Report which will outline the financial status and change in the company. On Wednesday, LEGO released their non-financial results for 2013, which include several interesting improvements over the past few years. Some of the highlights in the report are as follows:

  • The energy efficiency at LEGO production sites increased by 6.7% in 2013
  • The LEGO Group has in total increased its energy efficiency by more than 30% since 2009
  • In 2013, the LEGO Group entered a Climate Savers partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), emphasising the commitment of the company to reduce carbon dioxide emissions
  • In 2013, the number of work-related injuries with absence was 36, which compared to 2009 is a reduction of more than 40% and equals an all time low injury rate of 1.7
  • The number of employees working for the LEGO Group has increased by 5000 people since 2009
