This is my first ever review, so bear with me. I'm going to review 41062 Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle, one of the newest sets in the Disney Princess line-up. I will get it for Christmas, and if not, I'm kinda screwed up. The set looks really nice. I can get the feel from the movie, with different scenes showcased. You get some really useful pieces, as well as the return of the glitter pieces! Let's take a look at the set:

Basic information:

The Box[edit | edit source]

The box is a small/medium size. It has those, what some call unnecessary, Friends curves (I like it though). And thank you very very much LEGO, the box is actually taped! If not, I wouldn't be as satisfied as I am with the set right now (:-P). Taped boxes are so fun to open! Anyways. The box displays the Castle in a frozen area, with Olaf as you can see him in the Summer song, Anna (Ah-nah) riding in a sleigh, possibly the one that Kristoff had and Elsa standing on the balcony, perhaps greeting Anna as in the official description of the set. There's also a small picture displaying the backside of the Ice Palace.

On the backside there's some pictures of the set with ideas of how you can play with it:

  1. Elsa controlling the ice stairs.
  2. Elsa and Anna riding the sleigh.
  3. The accessories and cool parts.
  4. The castle/palace itself:
    1. Olaf being happy in the Ice Bar.
    2. Anna doing the makeup.
    3. Elsa reading a book with an Arendelle Castle picture on it.
  5. How to make the mini-dolls.
  6. Elsa riding skis, plus Anna and Olaf having a nice picnic.
  7. Lastly, Elsa taking Anna skating, as they did in the end of the movie.

So there's a lot to do with this amazing set! Let's take a look at the contents:

Contents[edit | edit source]

I opened this set early the morning of December 25th, and was a great way to kick off Christmas Day. I was surprised when I saw that the box was taped, which made my day, but I'm going to talk about the contents. You get three bags, a 1x16 baseplate and two instruction booklet. I'm not sure if this counts for the American version of this set, so let me know in the comment section!

Bag One

In bag one you get to build the picnic scene, the sleigh and a hill to push the sleigh down. I think that it could include one more thing though: A tree. We get a tree built to the castle, but I think one more would make it perfect. Well, it is perfect for me anyways.

You get to put together Anna and Olaf. I will talk more about them later.

Bag Two

When I opened it, the bag attacked me with cool *cough*See the reference?*cough* parts: Translucent or whatever LIGHT BLUE parts! You get to build the base. I really like both the interior and the exterior. You have to apply four of stickers, which has a silver/mirror-ish background to them! Yay for that! You also have a tree on the side to build.

I'll talk more about this later.

Bag Three, the final bag

This is the final bag! Here you get to but together Elsa, and buil the second and third floor! I was so excited when I buit it, because of all these parts! You have the trans-whatever pieces and the glittery SURPs. When this bag is finished you will most likely reenact the "Let it Go" scenes! I will add some pictures on the end where I have taken some builds from the Friends Advent Calendar and combined them with this set!

Mini-Dolls and Accessories[edit | edit source]

You get two mini-dolls and Olaf the snowman in this set:

Queen Elsa of Arendelle

The Snow Queen Elsa appears pretty much like she did in the movie. Her braid is amazing and the head is what you would expect. She wears A CAPE! Her torso is pretty accurate, ad they printed the glitter stuff on the sides. If it continued all over it would be too much. Her dress is really interesting, as ut has some cool shapes. It was not like that in the movie. Good job LEGO!

Princess Anna of Arendelle

Anna is represented as awesome. Her hair is really accurate as her head. She wears A CAPE! Her torso is detailed with amazing rose paintings as her dress piece. Good job with that one LEGO!

Olaf the Snowman

Olaf is made as accurate as they could. The head mould is fantastic, as ut captures the shape. You can fit it on a regular torso. His body is pretty snowman basic. Great job again LEGO!

The Structure[edit | edit source]

The Ice Castle is cool. Well, that is what you could expect of a palace made out of ice. :-P You get these awesome stairs that can move on the outside and a tree with some ice hanging down. It's put there for play, if you know what I mean. So the Ice Castle itself starts the major fun: TRANSPARENT/TRANSLUCENT/Whatever pieces! And in blue too! In the bottom floor there's a wardrobe kinda place to put your skis.
