A 501st Legion Clone Trooper, also referred to as just a Clone Trooper, is a Star Wars minifigure released in 2013.

Description[edit | edit source]

The 501st Legion Clone Trooper is a variation of the standard Clone Trooper that sports Phase II armour with bright blue markings. It has printing on its helmet of a black T-visor and a grey and black breathe filter in the shape of an upside-down V. Below these, at the base of the helmet, are the tips of two additional tubular breathe filters, ones that run from the front of the helmet to the back. A vertical blue stripe is located in the center of the helmet, thin at the base and getting wider as it nears the top.

Back printing

The torso is of a slightly different design than the phase I troopers of The Clone Wars, with chest plates, stomach armour and a white utility belt. A blue stripe begins at the base of the chest and runs up to the top of the torso piece. The arms are all blue and the hands black. The back printing depicts the back of the utility belt with a cylindrical thermal detonator. A rectangle with several lines and dots inside is located in the center of the back.

The 501st Trooper's legs are mainly white, with printing of blue-lined knee plates located in the center of each leg. Thin, light grey lines run from the top of the knee plates to the hips, which are black.

The trooper comes armed with a blaster in both sets it currently appears in.

Background[edit | edit source]

The Clone Troopers of the 501st Legion were an elite force within the Grand Army of the Republic. They fought in many battles throughout the Clone Wars, serving under Jedi General Anakin Skywalker. They could be identified by their signature blue markings. These troopers were the ones who, when Order 66 was given, marched on the Jedi temple and exterminated every one. They later became the Imperial Stormtroopers, feared enforcers of the galactic Empire and under the direct command of Lord Vader.

A notable member of the 501st Legion was Captain Rex, who commanded Torrent Company, a unit within the 501st.
