Li'ella is a Legends of Chima lioness minifigure first released in mid-2014. She is the adoptive daughter of Tormak and the love interest of both Laval and Sir Fangar. Li'ella was a main character in the third season of Legends of Chima: The Animated Series.
Li'ella Physical appearance[edit | edit source]
Looking at it from a certain perspective, Li'ella is rather scantily clad. Li'ella wears a red flame deisgned chestplate as a top and short flamed togas as shorts. Her chestplate isn't very large so Li'ella's stomach is exposed. She is a Lioness so her skin is furry. That may be reason why her belly button is not visible or it is covered by her shorts.
Background[edit | edit source]
Li'ella originally lived in ancient Chima and was the only Lion saved by the Phoenix from the Hunters before the Great Illumination. For thousands of years, she lived among them, acting as a guard to the hidden city. She believed herself to be the last of the Lions, unaware that other Lions had evolved from the CHI water now flowing from Mount Cavora. Li'ella became good friends with the phoenix child Flinx and cared for him.
Following the return of the Hunters, Li'ella accompanied Tormak and the Phoenix in the Blazing Bastion when they ventured to the Crescent Outpost. It was there that she met Laval for the first time and got to know that she wasn't the only remaining lion after all. She remained at the Outpost to guard the Fire CHI while the phoenix returned to Cavora. ("The Crescent")
Li'ella later borrowed a Phoenix speedor and journeyed to The Fangs to warn Laval and Cragger that melting the Hunter's fortress would only result in flooding half of Chima. ("Fired Up!")
Shortly thereafter, Eris and Laval returned to the Crescent with Flinx to meet with Fluminox. While they awaited the Phoenix King's arrival, she and Laval talked of the Lion City until they were interrupted by Eris, who had just received a vision of a Panther. ("Cool and Collected")
The next day, Laval and Flinx arrived at the Crescent to take Li'ella on a tour of the Lion City. During the tour, Li'ella was constantly pulled away from Laval's explanations by Flinx. When they came to the steps of the City, a band of Hunters appeared on the horizon and she and Laval rode the Lion Legend Beast out to combat them. However, they soon discovered it was only a diversion and raced back to the throne room just as Tormak and the Lion Guards were pushing back the Hunters. Li'ella explained to Laval of her father's past as he departed. ("The Snowball Effect")
The lions provided Li'ella with transport to the Crescent where she took up guard duty again. As she told Lundor of the City, the two noticed that Hunters were moving towards it. They rushed inside and begged Tormak and Fluminox to help and they reluctantly agreed. The party boarded the Blazing Bastion and set off to the Lion City where they used the plane's fire cannons to send the Hunters in retreat. When Tormak jumped off to seal the Hunter's caverns, Li'ella hurried to the Lion City and rescued Flinx with Mungus and Mottrot's grasp. Sir Fangar however quickly grabbed her and the Phoenix Child and attempted to escape with them in a Mammoth aircraft, but Laval held on. Li'ella urged the Lion Prince to save Flinx and bit the Saber Tooth Tiger's other arm to free the Phoenix. ("The King Thing")
Li'ella was taken to the Hunter's fortress where she was locked up in his trophy room. She was aghast to find that Sir Fangar was intent on marrying her and protested when she was moved by Maula to a Mammoth walker for transport to Spiral Mountain. ("A Very Slippery Slope")
With Li'ella captured and being forced to marry Sir Fangar, the tribes of Chima searched around Chima for her, but found no trace of her or the Hunters. ("The Artifact")
Later some of the heroes of Chima (Laval, Eris, Cragger, Worriz, and Rogon went on a rescue effort, but encountered some resistance from Sir Fangar's forces, but we're able to rescue Li'ella only for her to find out about Tormak's incident with the Artifact. ("The Phoenix has Landed")
When Li'ella, Laval, and Eris find out that Flinx was captured by the Hunters, they, along with the Phoenix and Cragger, led a rescue effort only to get trapped in the Gorge of Eternal Depth and are met by ShadoWind, AKA. Laval's uncle, Lavertus. ("The Phoenix has Landed"))
With the Golden CHI from Lavertus' lair, the Phoenix, Laval, Li'ella, Eris, and Cragger escape the Gorge and make it to Mount Cavora where they find out that Tormak ran off into the Outlands after he was burned by The Artifact. ("A Spark of Hope"))
Wasting no time, Li’ella borrowed a Phoenix speedor and accompanied Laval, Cragger, Lavertus, and Li’ella into the Outlands to search for the source of the mysterious light. As they drew closer, Li’ella found herself feeling a connection to the light and could sense its pain. They at last discovered the source; the burnt Tiger Tormak releasing the energy of the Artifact now contained inside him. She insists on helping her wounded father, but he reveals the map to the Fire Wings now burned inside him. The party then set off to the location of the first pair of Fire Wings near the Eagle Spire. After a frenzy chase through the claw-stone rocks, Eris managed to retrieve the Fire Wings and suggested they split up to find the other Fire Wings. (“Wings of Fire”)
Li'ella accompanied her father to the Rhino Quarry where they pulled out the Rhinos' unbreakable rock where they located the seventh pair of Fire Wings. The two then returned to the Lion City where they fixed the broken Blazing Bastion and managed to get it airborne in time to assist the heroes as they flew towards Mount Cavora to trigger the Illumination. After it was successful and cleansed the land, the two landed on Mount Cavora and was reunited with the heroes as the Phoenix ascended to their mother sun. ("The Heart of Cavora")

The adopted daughter of Tormak, Li'Ella is a member of the guards who watch over the hidden city of the Phoenix. She is tough and smart, and more than able to take care of herself. But her world gets turned upside down when she meets Laval and discovers that there are lions living someplace beside the hidden city, and some of them are cute. What neither she nor Laval know is that the evil Sir Fangar is also interested in Li’Ella and wants her to be his queen when he conquers Chima. Laval, Li’Ella and Fangar are heading for a showdown …
