Captain Marvel, formerly known as Ms. Marvel, is a Marvel Super Heroes character that first appeared in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. She was released physically in 2016, and again in 2019, reflecting her appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Description[edit | edit source]
Ms. Marvel is unlocked in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes by collecting her character token in the side-mission "Nuff Said". Her character model features a flesh-coloured head with black eyes with white pupils and black eyelashes, which are surrounded by a black mask. Her mouth has dark red lips and she as blond long hair which falls over her right shoulder. Her body is black, and features a large yellow lightning bolt on the front, along with dark grey for body outlining and red for a belt tied off to the right. Both the belt and outlining are also present on the back of the model. Her arms are flesh-coloured, and her hands are black, representing gloves. Ms. Marvel's legs are black, with more red present on the leg joint and right leg, depicting the rest of the belt below the knot. The flesh colour is again used on the front and side of the legs, separating the boots from the rest of the costume.
In LEGO Marvel Super Heroes[edit | edit source]
Ms. Marvel has the ability to fly, with yellow energy coming out of her hands and legs, and fire photonic blasts as a ranged attack. She can also use photonic energy as a beam weapon, allowing her to destroy gold objects. In addition, she also has a number of melee attacks.
Background[edit | edit source]
Carol Danvers was a member of the United States Air Force, before going on to work for a number of government agencies. During her work, she encountered Captain Marvel, an extraterrestrial Kree warrior. At one point, the two were caught in the middle of an explosion. However, the two survived, and due to Captain Marvel's presence in the blast, the explosion gave Danvers a number of superpowers. Taking the name Ms. Marvel, Danvers used her newfound powers to defend the people of Earth, both on her own or as a member of the Avengers.
